Commissions Process
Our step by step process if you decide to work with me
The drawing used to illustrate this process was commissioned by the amazing author Juliette Pierce
Before starting, please send me as many references, moodboards and descriptions as you can. Lore and symbolisms about your character are welcome too.
I do accept AI references if you have no other options to show me your vision, but please note that I won’t trace nor use it as a proper base for your commission.
I’ll come back to you with a total price for your commission. If you agree with it, I’ll provide one or multiple composition suggestions. Please note that this step is free, and if you feel my style won’t work for your project after all, no charges on your side. But to protect my work, those composition images will have a Nightshade filter to prevent any AI feeding. This means there will be weird artefacts on the drawing, which ironically makes it look like AI. It is not.

If you want to work with me then, I’ll provide you a contract and a bill, and will start working on the commission after receiving payment (PayPal or direct bank transfer).
Please provide me on this step a specific date on which I’m allowed to share the commission on my social networks, in case you have a specific date of reveal on your side.
If money is an issue, we can make a multiple payment plan at various steps of the drawing (sketch, lineart, flat colours and rendering) but note that all the wips will have a watermark on them until the last payment is made. Once all amount is paid, I will send back each files without their watermarks.
I’ll come back to you with a sketch version.
At this stage, you have one free revision. Feel free to make me change anything. Multiple iteration of the revision are possible in a reasonable amount. But if after multiple attempts, you want to change more and more unplanned parts of the sketch, additional costs can apply (from 10 to 50€ depending on complexity).

Once the sketch is validated, I’ll come back with a proper lineart version. You will have another free revision, under the same conditions.

We will then discuss more about the type of palette you want, and I’ll show you a flat colours version. At this step, any colour revision is free. You can ask me to change every colour you want, as much as you want, with no additional charges.
But please note that the flat version feels dull and fade, and that’s normal. Magic truly happens at the rendering stage.

Finally, I’ll show you the rendering version.
I might come back to you with WIPs at that stage, asking for advices and opinions on some parts of the drawing. If I come to you with a question on changes it won’t count as a proper revision, and will be free of charges.
Once I show you the final rendering version, you have another free revision.
Please note that the revision should be about colours and rendering. At this stage, a change regarding the pose will automatically cost 10-50€ each, because it’ll be a lot of work on my part.

Once your commission is done, I might slightly edit it in order to make it fit the rest of my instagram account. Those will be slight changes, such as light colour variations. But please note I’ll show them to you before posting them, and if you like it, I’ll put them on the drive folder as well.
I always put a watermark on my social medias posts, noting « commission: do not use », with your name on it. If you want a specific name to be shown, and/or if you have a specific font you would like me to use, please tell me.
